Share your spare space

Lend NodeGuard some disk space you aren't using and earn free storage or money. Everything stored is encrypted before it arrives, in small pieces, so nobody can read it on your machine. No router changes needed.

Windows or Mac

Download NodeGuard Node, open it, and follow the three steps.

Download NodeGuard Node

Raspberry Pi, or a Linux computer that's always on

Open its terminal and paste this one line. It installs NodeGuard Node, starts it whenever the computer starts, and keeps it up to date.

curl -fsSL https://app.nodeguard.co.uk/node/install.sh | sudo bash

To keep the shared space on a USB disk, add where it is: ... | sudo bash -s -- --data /mnt/usb/nodeguard. When it finishes it shows the address to open and a setup code.

A NAS (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, TrueNAS) or anything with Docker

  1. Download docker-compose.yml.
  2. Change the folder and the password in it (it explains where).
  3. Synology: Container Manager, Project, Create, and paste the file. Elsewhere: docker compose up -d.
  4. On a computer at home, open http://your-NAS-address:9596 and sign in.
